Zapier

Trigger Zaps from new transactions, balances, holdings, account changes and connection status in Synci, and look up transactions and accounts with Zapier searches.

Zapier lets you connect Synci to 8,000+ apps, such as Google Sheets, Notion, Slack, Airtable and email, without writing a single line of code. Whenever something happens to your financial data in Synci (a new transaction, an updated balance, a bank connection that needs attention, and more), Zapier can automatically pass it along to wherever you want it to go.

Zapier works a little differently from our other destinations. Instead of connecting an account inside Synci, you build automations ("Zaps") on Zapier's side. Synci then sends data to those Zaps automatically via webhooks. You don't have to create or manage anything manually. Synci takes care of the webhooks for you.

Getting access to the Synci app on Zapier

The Synci integration on Zapier is currently invite-only. To get started, accept the invite using the link below. It can be opened from anywhere, at any time:

👉 Accept the Synci + Zapier invite

You'll also find it in the Synci Dashboard: open All integrations, choose Zapier and click Accept invite on Zapier. Once you've accepted, the Synci app will be available to you when building Zaps on Zapier.

Before you start

  • An active Synci subscription. Zaps receive data through webhook endpoints, which aren't available without one.

  • A verified email address on your Synci account.

Creating your first Zap

  1. Head to Zapier and click Create Zap.

  2. For the Trigger, search for and select Synci.

  3. Choose the event you want to trigger your automation (for example, New Transaction). See the full list of triggers below.

  4. Connect your Synci account when prompted. Synci opens its consent screen, where you choose which accounts Zapier can access, then approve.

  5. Set up the trigger. Most triggers have an optional Accounts field to only fire for specific accounts, and every trigger has an optional Webhook Description so you can tell your Zaps apart in Synci.

  6. Test the trigger. Zapier pulls recent real data from your Synci account as samples.

  7. Add an Action: this is where your data goes. For example, "Create a row in Google Sheets" or "Send a Slack message".

  8. Turn on your Zap.

That's it. From now on, Synci will automatically send matching events straight to your Zap.

Webhooks are handled for you

Every Zap that uses a Synci trigger is backed by its own webhook endpoint in Synci. You don't need to set these up, copy URLs, or manage secrets: it all happens automatically.

  • ✅ Turn a Zap on → Synci creates its webhook endpoint and starts sending data. You'll see it under Developers > Webhooks, marked Created by Zapier.

  • ✅ Turn a Zap off or delete it → its webhook endpoint is removed from Synci.

Each active Zap with a Synci trigger uses one webhook endpoint from your plan's allowance, shared with any endpoints you've added yourself. If they're all in use, Zapier shows an error when you turn on a new Zap. Turn off a Zap you no longer need, delete an unused webhook under Developers > Webhooks, or upgrade your plan.

Synci signs every delivery, and the Synci app on Zapier checks that signature before it runs your Zap.

Triggers

Trigger

Fires when…

New Transaction

Synci fetches new transactions from one of your accounts. Each transaction runs your Zap separately.

Updated Transaction

A pending transaction is booked or its details change. Each transaction runs your Zap separately.

Updated Balance

Synci fetches a new balance for one of your accounts.

Updated Holdings

The positions of an investment or crypto account are refreshed. One run per refresh, with every holding included.

New Account

A bank, investment or crypto account is added to Synci.

Updated Account

An account is renamed, enabled, disabled or its details change.

Deleted Account

An account is removed from Synci.

Connection Status Changed

A bank or brokerage connection is created, activated, reauthorized, about to expire, expired, failing, recovered, disabled or deleted. You choose which of these events trigger the Zap.

Every trigger includes the event type, an event ID and when the event occurred, so you can tell runs apart. The Accounts filter isn't available on New Account and Connection Status Changed.

You can use as many of these as you like across different Zaps: for example, one Zap that logs every new transaction to a spreadsheet, and another that pings you in Slack whenever a balance drops.

Searches

You can also add a Synci search as an action step, to look something up in the middle of a Zap:

  • Find Transaction: finds a transaction by ID, account, text search, booked status, date range or currency. You choose the sort order; by default the newest match comes first.

  • Find Account: finds an account by name, ID, currency, type (bank and card, or investment and crypto) or connection.

What data does Synci send to Zapier?

For privacy, Synci automatically strips sensitive bank identifiers (such as full account numbers, IBAN, and BBAN) from everything sent to Zapier. Each event includes the data relevant to it (transaction details, balances, holdings or connection status) along with non-sensitive account information like the account name and currency, so you always have enough context to build powerful automations without exposing sensitive details.

Ideas to get you started

  • 📊 Log every new transaction to a Google Sheet or Airtable base.

  • 💬 Get a Slack or email alert when a large transaction comes in.

  • 📝 Append spending to a Notion database for budgeting.

  • 📥 Forward balance updates to your own internal tools or dashboards.

  • 🔔 Get a reminder when a bank connection is about to expire, so you can renew it in time.

Troubleshooting

  • Zapier says all your webhook endpoints are in use: turn off a Zap you no longer need, delete an unused webhook under Developers > Webhooks in Synci, or upgrade your plan.

  • Zapier says your email address isn't verified: verify your email in Synci, then try again.

  • Synci refuses a request for an account: reconnect your Synci account in Zapier and make sure the account is selected on the consent screen.
