Plans and billing

How per-connection billing works, what Basic, Pro and Business include, the free trial, and how to change, downgrade or cancel your subscription.

Synci is billed per connection. You pick a plan and how many connections it covers, and you can change either at any time from the Billing page. This article explains what counts as a connection, what each plan includes, and what happens when you change or cancel your subscription.

What counts as a connection

A connection is one login at one bank, brokerage or crypto exchange, however many accounts sit behind it. If you add a current account, a savings account and a credit card from the same bank with a single login, that is one connection.

  • A connection counts toward your plan while it is active: until its consent expires, or until you disable or delete it.

  • Brokerage and crypto exchange logins are billed the same way as banks: one connection per login.

  • Demo banks are free and don't count toward your plan.

For more on how connections work, see Financial connections.

Plans

Basic

  • €23.99 per connection per year (€2.00 a month).

  • Accounts sync every 6 hours.

  • Synci keeps your data for up to 60 days.

  • No AI features.

Pro

  • €51.99 per connection per year (€4.33 a month).

  • Faster syncing: accounts can sync as often as every 2 hours. The default is every 6 hours, and you can set each account to anything between every 2 and every 24 hours.

  • Synci keeps your data for up to 730 days.

  • AI features, such as Transaction enrichment: clean merchant names and categories for your bank transactions.

  • Priority support.

Business

Custom, usage-based pricing for 100 or more connections. Choose Contact us on the plan, or email sales@synci.io.

On Basic you get 2 rules for each connection you pay for, up to 5 rules attached to one account or linked account, and 1 condition and 1 action per rule. Pro has no limit on the number of rules, up to 10 per account or linked account, and up to 5 conditions and 5 actions per rule. Webhook endpoint limits also depend on your plan. Prices and limits can change, so synci.io/pricing always has the current figures.

Sync frequencies are the fastest your plan allows. Banks that cap how many requests they accept a day may sync less often than this.

Free trial

Basic and Pro both come with a 14-day free trial, and you aren't charged during it. The trial is available if you have never had a Synci subscription before. Start it from onboarding with Start free trial, or from the Billing page with Start a free trial.

If you change plan or connection count during the trial, nothing is charged straight away. The trial carries on, and the new price applies when it ends.

Payments are processed by Stripe, which acts as merchant of record for your purchase.

Managing your subscription

Open the user menu at the bottom of the sidebar and choose Billing. You can also get there from the Billing button on the Settings page.

The page shows your plan, what you pay, its status (Active, Trial or Cancels soon) and how many of your connections are in use.

Adding connections

  1. Under More connections. Same plan., set Total connections to the number you need. The new monthly price is shown next to it.

  2. Choose Review connection change.

  3. Check the summary and choose Confirm change.

Changing plan, billing interval or lowering your connection count

  1. Choose Compare plans.

  2. Pick the plan, interval (Monthly or yearly) and number of connections you want. The button on each plan tells you what it will do, for example Upgrade to Pro, Downgrade to Basic, Switch to annual plan or Update subscription.

  3. Review the change. Your subscription changes only when you choose Confirm change.

How changes are charged

  • On a paid subscription: your billing period restarts on the day of the change. You pay the new price for a full period, minus a credit for the unused part of your current one. If the credit is bigger than the new price, it is applied to your account balance.

  • During a free trial: nothing is charged until the trial ends.

The review screen shows exactly what will be charged today and what you'll pay from then on before you confirm.

Invoices and payment details

Choose Invoices & payment details at the bottom of the Billing page, or Manage subscription at the top. Both open the Stripe billing portal, where you can download invoices and update your payment method.

Downgrading, or when a subscription ends

When you move to a plan with fewer connections or features, or your subscription ends, Synci brings your setup in line with what is left:

  • Connections over your new limit are disabled, newest first. Without a subscription, all connections are disabled. Disabled connections stop syncing but keep their data.

  • Rules and webhook endpoints over your new limits are disabled. Without a subscription, none stay active.

  • Transaction enrichment is turned off if your new plan doesn't include AI features.

  • Sync frequency is slowed down on any account set to sync faster than your new plan allows.

  • Data retention is lowered to your new plan's maximum (30 days without a subscription), and data older than that is deleted. See Data retention.

When a downgrade disables connections, rules or webhook endpoints, Synci sends you a notification so it doesn't happen silently.

To use a disabled connection again once your plan has room for it, open it and choose Enable. You'll log in at your institution again, and the connection picks up with its existing data.

Cancelling

  1. On the Billing page, choose Manage subscription.

  2. Cancel your subscription in the Stripe billing portal.

Your subscription stays active until the end of the period you've paid for. Until then, the Billing page shows Cancels soon and the date your access ends. After that date, the changes described in the previous section apply.

Changed your mind? Use Manage subscription to resume your subscription before it ends. You need to resume it before you can change your plan or connection count.
