Transfer links
A “transfer link” is the link between a bank account and a destination, enabling automatic and manual transaction transfers. There are no limits to how many transfer links you can create. This means you can link a single bank account to multiple destinations by creating a transfer link for each destination.

Transfer link settings

For each transfer link, you can configure the following settings:
Transfer link rules
Transfer link rules are applied to transactions as they are transferred to linked destinations. Transaction changes are only saved in the destination they are transferred to. The transactions that are stored in Synci will not be affected by these rules.
Transfer link rules are divided by destination type. For transfer links connected to a YNAB budget account, you will have to create a “YNAB Transfer Link Rule”. The same goes for Lunch Money and other destinations. This is because different destination types have different transaction fields, and we limit the fields you can transform based on the destination set up in the transfer link.
Why do I need to create a transfer link to connect my bank account to a destination?
Since the transfer link is its own entity, you gain full control of the actual process of transferring transactions. This means you can configure settings and rules per transfer link, instead of having to define your preferences at a higher level, like in the bank account or destination itself. For instance, transfer link rules only apply changes to the transactions inside the destination they’re being transferred to. If you were only able to define rules at the bank account level, any changes made by the rules would be saved permanently in Synci.
With the flexibility transfer links provide, you can do pretty much anything you want. Here are some examples.
Scenario: You want to connect a single bank account to multiple destinations, without having to create a new bank connection for each destination.
Solution: Create two transfer links. One linking the bank account to destination 1, the other linking the bank account to destination 2.
Scenario: You have linked a bank account to two destinations, by creating two transfer links. You want transactions in destination 1 to have the amounts reversed, and transactions in destination 2 to have the creditor account number appended to the description.
Solution: Create two rules. Rule 1 reverses the amount. Rule 2 appends the creditor account number to the description. Attach rule 1 to destination 1, and rule 2 to destination 2. You now have different transfer logic for each destination, without affecting your actual data in Synci.
Scenario: You have linked a bank account to two destinations, by creating two transfer links. When transactions go from pending to booked, you want their description to be updated in destination 1, but not in destination 2.
Solution: Enable automatic updating of descriptions in the settings for transfer link 1. Disable it for transfer link 2.
